Mila Schn dress, "Miss Schn" line. Inspiration cheongsam, a traditional Manchu women's dress, in Chinese language is known as qípáo . The cheongsam originated in the Qing dynasty period, during which certain social strata, mainly Manchurian, emerged in China. Manchurian women were forced by law to wear a dress called qipao, which was wide and straight and completely covered the female form. In later years the qipao was adopted as traditional Chinese dress, and modified in style to be more palatable to the tastes of the people. Schn's pattern is based on those created in the 1920s in Shanghai.
